Tour de Vin

On the 4th and 5th of May, the 25th Tour de Vin will take place. The Austrian Traditional Wineries invite to taste the new vintage and enjoy seductive side events.

To stroll from vineyard to vineyard, get an overview of the character of the new vintage, get to know the winemakers and fill up your own cellar: The Tour de Vin is the best opportunity for wine connoisseurs to pay a visit to 36 members of the Austrian Traditional Wineries in the Danube region and to taste an incomparably high density of freshly filled top wines. On both days, doors and gates of the wineries located in Kamptal, Kremstal, Traisental, and Wagram are open from 10 am. Everyone gets admission with the entrance button, which is available for 25 euros in the wineries.

Not wine alone
What began more than two decades ago as the first of the spring tastings which are so popular today, has now developed into a varied range of pleasures. During the two days of the Tour de Vin, an extensive program in each winery is offered. Many wineries take the opportunity to invite winemakers from home and abroad. Heribert Bayer from Neckenmarkt in Weingut Leth, Georg Breuer from Rheingau in Weingut Jurschitsch, Daniel Sauer from Franken at Weingut Bernhard Ott and Eugène Meyer from Alsace at Weingut Sepp Moser, for example, are visiting. Delightful hours are announced when in the winery Hirsch Volksgarten pavilion chef Matthias Zykan throws the grill. At Gobelsburg, the Foodtruck SNÄX stops by, in Walpersdorf a 4-course degustation menu is accompanied by wines of the winery Markus Huber – just to give a few examples of the culinary delights during the Tour de Vin. Further highlights are a vineyard walk with winemaker Willi Bründlmayer, a suckling pig brunch in the winery Hermann Moser and a cellar tour in the winery Brandl with tasting of up to 40-year-old rarities. Many side events are included in the entry button.

Magnum Party
At the chilling event in Kloster And Krems on May 5th, every winemaker brings his current favorite wine from the Magnum bottle. The dress code is “Smart Casual” or Tracht. The entrance fee is 20 Euro with Tour de Vin-Button or 30 Euro without Button.
